Durango, a Guajillo-type hot pepper, is an exciting and versatile addition to our gourmet pepper varieties. Guajillo types can be harvested and eaten fresh in salsa or dried and later ground into powder for making sauces, spreads, or rubs. Durango has mild to medium heat, approximately 2500-5000 scoville units depending on conditions. The 6.5-8 inch fruits mature to bright red then dry to a deep burgundy-black with excellent dry weight. Matures is about 70-80 days from transplant. HR: Tm: 0 and IR: Pc.
